Organizing the Digital CRE Marketplace - An Interview with theBrokerLists' Linda Day Harrison

CRE relies heavily on personal relationships. Linda Day Harrison moved them online.

Hello Linda! Please introduce yourself.

I am a high energy person who is eager to serve the commercial real estate community and willing to help anybody with almost anything! I have been in the commercial real estate industry my entire career and I am living in Las Vegas with my husband John and my fur baby Toodlebug.

How did you get your start in retail real estate business?

I started out in property management and lived in Chicago so mixed-use properties were commonplace. Most of our high rises had ground floor retail or hospitality or other property types, like office, condominiums and apartments.

What do you see as the most important factors shaping the market today and over the next several years?

The global economy and technology. Both are making the world smaller. There are no limits to borders as far as products and services as a result.

What have you changed your mind about in regards to retail real estate in the last year or two?

Technology will not replace retail, but they will work together. It is our human instinct to hunt and gather and I do not see that human condition being replaced. People love to shop and even with all of the technology brick and mortar retail will not vaporize.

What’s your goal with your website theBrokerList?

Since our founding in 2011 it has always been the goal to bring the industry together and make the effort of finding commercial real estate brokers and professionals easy.

What have you learned running theBokerList.com that you could not have learned otherwise?

Everything about building websites, online marketing, social media, blogging, building community, branding and so much more.
